Why are you part of the OC Human Relations Commission?

As a life-long resident of South Orange County, I have seen that discrimination and bias can be subtle yet deadly. As a person of faith, I am committed to upholding the dignity of each human being, actively addressing the issues that are causing harm to my Orange County neighbors. This is the first commission I have served on, and I consider it a privilege to be part of an effort that aligns with my personal journey in the non-profit sector.

Why are you part of the OC Human Relations Commission?

I have made it my life’s work to uplift marginalized voices; like many in Orange County, I too have experienced discrimination and bullying. This Commission is an important partnership with our entire community to create lasting change.

Why are you part of the OC Human Relations Commission?

As an Arab and Muslim-American, I've personally experienced the challenges of underrepresentation and misrepresentation for my community. My goal is to create an inclusive space where various voices can be heard. I hope to serve as a channel for not only my community but also others, offering a platform for individuals to voice their concerns and collectively work towards changing the narrative surrounding diverse communities.

Why are you part of the OC Human Relations Commission?

In a world grappling with division the Human Relations Commission can provide those yearning for unity and understanding with a forum for listening and learning. I want to be a force for good through this commission to learn, grow and spread kindness and understanding to everyone in the county.
